Day Care Connection is one of 16 sponsoring organizations in Kansas that administers the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program to family child care providers. CACFP is a part of the Federal School Lunch Program started in 1977 helping family child care providers serve balanced nutrition in their day care homes. Providers are reimbursed with federal funds for serving the children in their care nutritious meals. Our mission is to improve the quality and health of children through support services in addition to the federal nutrition program to licensed caregivers throughout our communities. We also partner with many agencies to bring services and resources to those we serve. Established in 1982, Day Care Connection provides services to providers in 17 counties in Kansas.

Kelly Cahill

Executive Director

Kelly has been with Day Care Connection for 26 years as a home visitor, trainer, and nutrition claims processor until recently moving into the Executive Director position. She loves working with family child care providers as they serve such an important role in their community and loves working with the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program. Kelly is married to Sean, who is a KCKFD Fire Captain, and they have six kids between them so it’s always busy but fun!! In her free time she likes to walk with friends, travel, watch reality tv, or just hang out with her family and dog!

Kay Rhodelander

Data and Office Manager

Kay started her child care career as a family child care provider in 1983! In 1995 she began working for DCC and has been here ever since so she truly understands how important (and HARD) your job is! She works with new providers coming on the program and keeps track of all data around enrollment forms, income eligibility, training, visitor assignments and reporting, etc. You might see Kay out doing home visits as well at times! When she isn’t at work she spends time with her granddaughter and husband who is an auctioneer and recently retired from Coca-Cola. They spend a few weekends a month doing auctions with family.

Nancy Webb

Nancy is approaching her 19th year with Day Care Connection after being a family child care provider for five years before joining DCC. Nancy loves doing home visits and supporting those whose job she is so familiar with. When not at work she loves to wait tables at a local restaurant and travel! Although she says her favorite thing to do is TALK! She has two kids and is married (30 years this year!) to Jerry who is an Animal Control Officer for the City of Leawood.

Kathy Poulter

Kathy has been with Day Care Connection for 12 years. She loves getting to do home visits with all of our wonderful providers and the children they care for. Kathy also did family child care when her kids were young so she truly understands this profession. When not at work she likes to hang out with her daughters and grandson, go to dinner with friends, take girls’ trips with her family or go to NYC to see her oldest daughter.
